U.S. Army · Fort Bliss, TX

Tatiana Y. Colon

91B Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic · Team Leader · Senior SPC

From eleven years in professional kitchens to the motor pool — I bring discipline, safety standards, and hands-on craft to every vehicle and every team I serve.

About

Born in Humacao, Puerto Rico, I grew up in Pennsylvania where I joined JROTC in high school — the first seed of a path I would follow years later. After school I built a career in food service: sous chef, sauté cook, ServSafe certified, with experience across hospitals, universities, restaurants, and banquet operations.

In December 2021 I enlisted in the U.S. Army — a decision I made for my nephew and for the fourteen-year-old me who always knew this was part of my story. I started Basic Combat Training at Fort Jackson, SC on January 11, 2022, completed 91B Advanced Individual Training at Fort Lee, VA from late March through mid-July 2022, and reported to Fort Bliss, Texas on July 23, 2022.

I reenlisted in June 2024 to stabilize at Fort Bliss. Today I lead as a team leader, strive to master my craft as a maintainer, and follow the example of the NCOs who shaped me — direct, dependable, and always learning. I am currently in my reenlistment window and weighing my next assignment.
